Everything you need to know about the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and how to apply
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme helps you replace your fossil fuel heating with efficient, low carbon heating systems. Grants are available for air and ground source heat pumps and biomass boilers.
The value of the grants are:
£7,500 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
£5,000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler
£6,000 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump
The grants help you with the upfront cost of installing the low carbon heating systems.
Grants for a hybrid heat pump system (eg a combination of gas boiler and air source heat pump) are not available.
All systems installed must meet standards including minimum efficiency levels.
The system’s maximum capacity must be less than 45kWth – anything over is not eligible.
To qualify both you and your property must meet the criteria set out below.
