Welcome on board Michael Morrall

Michael Morrall

Michael joined us last month as the Director of Net Zero. He has over 17 years of experience in the energy efficiency industry for Dyson Energy Services formerly as the Director Of Operations.

His expertise covers retrofitting of domestic homes with Insulation, Heating, Renewable & Smart Technology measures.

We’re excited to have Michael on board and recently caught up with him to find out a bit more about his role and first impressions.

Congratulations on your appointment, what are you most excited about?

In my short time in the business I’ve learned that there is some incredible talent that I’m looking forward to working with as well as helping them develop their careers.

What was your first impression of Eco Approach and how have the first few weeks been?

I was very impressed with my first interactions with the team, they have been so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The business is forward thinking, innovative and I’ve learned quickly how well thought of they are amongst industry partners. They really do practice what they preach in respect of the companies core values and shared mission.

What challenges are you anticipating, and how do you plan to tackle them with the team?

Whole House Retrofit is a very rewarding although challenging arena. There are so many trades, variables, moving parts, and touch points to every project. It can be difficult to join all of these things up without excellent processes across internal and external stakeholders. I look forward to bringing my previous experiences to the business to aid the harmonisation and streamlining of processes for our customers and support teams.

What does success look like for you in the first few months?

Net Zero have substantial commitments having secured a strong orderbook for the remainder of the financial year. The targets are by no means easy to achieve. The measure of success will be the ensuring of delivery against all of commitments.

Achieving this as well as trying to remain agile to support likely and additional opportunities in the interim, as we enter heating switch on season, and maintaining quality and safety at the heart of everything we do, will be an achievement we can all be proud of.

What’s one thing you’re really looking forward to in achieving in 2026?

The business has excellent trading relationships and partnerships with Energy Companies, Principal Contractors, Managing Agents and charities. I look forward to working with all of our existing partners to cement our relationships and introduce new and exciting opportunities as we enter Wave 3 for SHF as well as understanding what the next round is going to look like.

There have been a number of contract awards already, some spanning 3 years, I look forward to getting stuck in to delivering these and adding more in the areas of the UK we service.
