On the Ground in East Anglia: Launching Our Smart Meter Team
We’re excited to announce the official launch of our smart meter installation team in East Anglia. After months of planning, our Smart Meter Manager Grant Haspineall is has been busy coordinating his team of dual-fuel engineers and theyr’re already and expanding and recruiting.
From rapid-fire SMETS2 installs to complex SMETS1 upgrades, his engineers are cross-trained and ready.
Starting Strong: Local Expertise and Commitment
Rolling out smart meters across East Anglia has its challenges. The region covers cities and towns plus rural villages and coastal communities. Our local engineers know the area well and have hands-on experience with older, non-standard meter housings and postcodes with weak network signals.
Smarter Scheduling, Better Coverage
East Anglia covers Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire so travel times can be high. With localised scheduling and careful route planning, jobs are assigned to the closest engineers, so they’re spending more time working with fewer miles on the road.
Tackling Connectivity Challenges
Smart meters depend on a strong WAN signal. The remote corners of East Anglia can present connection issues. Our team use advanced network diagnostic devices to ensure every meter is commissioned successfully. Any ‘dead spots’ get logged for future visits, minimising repeat trips and building a smarter service map for our engineers. Problem-Solving in Action
Whether it’s tackling a tricky SMETS1 re-enrollment or meter installations in old flint cottages. We’re working hard to meet our targets including First Time Fix (FTF) rates and keep waiting times low. East Anglia’s rollout is progressing one job and one community at a time, thanks to Grant and his team.
